ESTATXA is a nautical academy with more than 20 years of experience focused on crew training and maritime services, including boat rentals. The company delivers professional instruction for navigation licenses such as PNB, PER, Yachtmaster (Patrón de Yate) and Captain (Capitán de Yate), relying on experienced skippers to transmit practical knowledge of the nautical world. Courses are offered in Hondarribia (classroom at the marina) and in Donostia/San Sebastián (Avda. Zurriola 14, ground floor). For example, a course begins on December 1 with classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at 19:00. Basic safety and navigation practicals (engine practices) are carried out on approved school vessels. PER sailing practicals provide additional hands-on training to operate sailboats up to 15 metres and can be completed independently or combined with motor practicums. ESTATXA also provides the Radio Operator Short Range (ROCA) course required by recent legislation for PER and higher certificates: 12 hours in total (8 hours practical and 4 hours theoretical), with the obligation fulfilled once for PER and superior titles. The company offers in-person service by appointment at the Hondarribia office or by phone, emphasizing safety, certified practical training and professional instruction to form qualified navigators.
